Carmen at the Hollywood Bowl

Russ planned for us to go to the Hollywood Bowl to watch Carmen.  We had a great time sipping wine, eating snacks, and watching the show!

I forgot to take a lot of pics and that's about all I had!

Rihanna Concert

We got really lucky and were invited to the Rihanna Concert at the Staples Center!  =)

It was hard to take good pics, but that's Rihanna!

And then Eminem came out of no where and did a song w/ Rihanna!

Beer-Of-The-Month

Thanks to Kelley, Russ has been getting Beers-Of-The-Month for his bday!!  =)

The first month of beers arrived randomly one day.  It was quite a surprise!  We got 4 types of beers, 4 bottles each.  Russ totally enjoyed them!!

Another Photobooth

While I loved our photo booth, Pete and Jessica's Photo Booth was WAY MORE FUN!!!  I think the fact that it produced photos right then and there made it much much easier to use.  Not to mention, they had some pretty awesome props too!

There was a constant line for the photo booth all night long.  Here's me and Russ enjoying the photo booth:

Rihanna Concert!!!

We got sooooooo lucky and got some FREE tix to the Rihanna concert!  =)

Travie McCoy opened the concert and then Ke$ha came out next!  And finally...after a giant stage change, Rihanna came out.  heehee.

And then...Eminem popped out of NO WHERE!!!!  Talk about AWESOME!!!!  And they sang "Love The Way You Lie."  AWESOME!!!!

After Rihanna and Eminem did their song, that was the "end" of the concert...until the Encore!  =)  We couldn't figure out how Rihanna would top that ending...but she did!  She sang New York, but Jay-Z didn't make a guest appearance.  :(  But it was still pretty awesome!!!  ;)

 Thanks for our free tix!!!!  We had an awesome time at the concert!!!

San Diego Mini-Vacay

After the sunshine-y day at Sea World, we decided to take it easy and turn our Sea World trip into a mini-vacay in SD!  We used our Starwood points and stayed at the W for free.  heehee.

I asked around for some yummy restaurants and we ended up using the list provided by the W.  They instantly made reservations for us and before we knew it...we were having a nice relaxing Saturday evening meal at Cowboy Star Restaurant & Butcher Shop!!  =)


We waited for a bit at the Bar.  Russ got a "New Fashioned" while I got some drink that was delish, except I can't remember it's name.  :(

Everything was sooooo delish that when our entrees arrived, I completely forgot to take a picture of it and dived right into it!!!  ;)  OOOOPS!!!!

We were sooooo full that we didn't get any dessert!  Can you believe!?!??!!!

After dinner, we decided to walk back to try to work off our GIANT delicious dinner!  YUMMY!!!  We highly recommend it!  It was awesome!!

The next day, we drove to La Jolla to have walk around and have brunch/lunch at George's On The Cove.  We couldn't quite decide what/where to eat, and went to George's b/c we've gone there w/ our friends before!  yum.

And we got the Verbana Soup dessert.  It was quite an interesting dessert.  Russ LOVED it!

We took our time driving back and stopped by 85 degrees bakery in Irvine.  The line was GIANT!  We got some pastries and the iced salty coffee.  It was TO DIE FOR!!  We were so excited about it that we forgot to take a picture of it!  Oops, but here's the dessert case:

And then we headed home after a pit-stop at South Coast.  heehee.

 It was a nice mini-vacay to SD!  =)

Sea World

For my firm's summer event, they decided on a Sea World expedition.  So, early on a Saturday morning, Russ and I trekked down to SD to join in the Sea World madness.

Oh how Sea World has changed in the past 16 years!!!  In fact, I don't even really remember what it was like 16 years ago!  I just remember Shamu, getting a Shamu stuffed animal, and a dolphin stuffed animal.  It's totally different now.  Russ was quite excited since he's never gone before.  =)

Traffic was a PAIN though!  It took us nearly 3 hrs to get there!  :(  we got there just in time for the picnic lunch, seeing Opie the Otter and then it was time for the shows!  =)  Check it out:

It was really easy to take pics of Shamu b/c he's dark and huge!  I could always tell when Shamu was about to jump or do something crazy....  In a bit, you'll understand why this key fact was quite important!  ;)

The Seal was hungry for food and kept barking at us to feed him!  ;)

The Blue Horizons Show:

The whales and dolphins were really fast in jumping out of the water!  It was really hard for me to see when they were about to jump.  And I sort of took a picture of the girl on top of the whale...but I accidentally cut off her head.  :(  oops!

We saw some flamingos:

And we saw the Sesame Street show in 3-D!  heehee
