In between working a bajillion hours, trying to sleep, and doing more work, we squeezed in some time for our floral mock-up on March 25. =) I'm so glad that we did! It was such a nice reprieve from the usual daily lawyer stuff! ;)
Russ and I left work a bit early since we weren't sure what traffic would be like going to Pasadena to visit with Fleuretica and Kelley. It worked out wonderfully b/c we hit just a little bit of traffic and I slept most of the way there! I need to make up the 6 hours from somewhere!
Upon arrival, we had to read the parking meter sign a few times to make sure we could park there w/out walking out to a parking ticket! Sometimes I think they make street signs purposefully difficult to understand b/c it ALWAYS takes ME AND RUSS to interpret the damn signs! Or maybe it's just me being the lawyer and trying to find arguments in everything! ;)
In any case, we walked into Fleuretica's fortressed-studio (it had 2 gate codes and I'm pretty sure that a bank robber could not get in or out!) And we were greeted by our lovely and beautiful centerpieces!! Actually, I think my initial reaction was, "finally! I can put my GIANT wedding notebook down!!!" That's when we saw the centerpieces. WOW! It took our breath away.
Fleuretica did such an awesome job! I don't even know how to put it into words! We're both kind of finicky about what we like and what we don't like, but we're awful at describing what we dislike!!! I mean, we were all over the map in our descriptions to Fleuretica. For example, "I like feathers, but I don't like fat garden roses." Or "I love calla lilies, but I can't explain to you what I don't really like." In fact, Russ and I are infamous for "We'll know what we want when we see it." *sigh* Poor Fleuretica!!
But they read in between the lines of everything we said and didn't say. They took hints from Kelley and Tianyi and they created the most awesome-est centerpieces that totally fit our style and vision! It literally took our breath away and for the past 2 weeks, Russ and I cannot stop raving about how accurate and beautiful our centerpieces will be!!! =) Can't wait to show everyone at the wedding!!!!

New Moon
If you don't know...Russ works at Summit Entertainment. Most ppl know Summit b/c of the Twilight movies, but not now!! The Hurt Locker won Best Picture and The Hurt Locker's Director, Kathryn Bigelow, won Best Director!!! WOO!!! Not only did Kathryn Bigelow beat out her ex-husband, James Cameron, for that top spot, she is also the first female director to have won it! WOO!!! If you haven't seen The Hurt Locker yet, you should!!!
Now on to more important matters than the Academy Awards...New Moon came out on DVD a few nights ago. =) And Russ, being the little worker bee at Summit, brought home the New Moon DVD!!! YESS!!!!!! Russ asked if I wanted to have a New Moon viewing party. I told him I would love to have one (after I see the first one). hahahaha. In case you don't remember, I was late to jump on the Twilight band-wagon and only started reading the books in January this year! oh well!

Today is the first break I've had in weeks from work!! I've been so busy that in the span of 1 week, I billed 80 hours! That's billing time, not the time I'm actually at work! *sigh* The life of a lawyer! ;)
Anyway, to celebrate me being able to leave at 530 for once in several weeks, Russ took me to one of the best dinners we've had in a while (considering we were eating cereal for dinner and other unmentionables for the past few weeks or just not eating at all to save time)! heeheehee...
True to form, I completely forgot my camera and took these terrible pics from my iPhone. Not that my iPhone is terrible...just that there is no flash and the restaurant was dark and the pics came out fuzzy and dark....
Russ took me to Tar Pit on La Brea. It's a pretty cool name since it's right around the La Brea Tar Pits area! haha. Well, I found it interesting, at least. Anyway, we got seated immediately. We were a bit disappointed since our table was right next to the bar and the front door. Ppl were loud and kept bumping into my chair. But oh well...that's the life of someone trying to be cool and trendy! ;)
Our waitress was really awesome! She suggested a few things and we just randomly picked 4 small plates, a salad and an entree to share. She asked us if we wanted it in any order and we both kind of looked at her like, "umm...we don't know." So, she planned out our entire meal for us without any input from us at all! How cool was that!

Don't forget...I took these w/ my iPhone and then I had to fill the light in so that you can see it. So, it's a bit grainy, but use your imagination!

Then we were served our first course of Boston Bibb Salad and Tuna Tartare:
The Tuna Tartare was quite scrumptious! It had a bit of a spicy kick to it b/c of the mustard seeds! Totally delish!!! =)
And then on to our 2nd course of Duck Sliders and Fennel Pork Sausage. Russ really wanted the Steak Tartare or the Fried Oysters, but since I gave up beef and fried foods for Lent, we opted for the Duck Sliders and the Fennel Pork Sausage:
I kept forgetting to take the pics right when the food was served, so a lot of the pics were after Russ and I took several bites! Ooops! Anyway, the Duck Sliders were really tasty!! The Fennel Pork Sausage was OK. It reminded me of breakfast foods b/c it had country potatoes, onions and bell peppers in there. Out of all the foods we ordered, we liked the sausage thing the least.
And then we ordered a 2nd round of drinks, but I didn't take any pics! Totally forgot! I got an Old Cuban and Russ got a Dark and Stormy. His was a combo of dark and light rum! I really liked it!! And mine had aged rum with some champagne in it. Both were really good!
After some time, our 3rd course arrived. Let me tell you (again), our waitress did an awesome job of planning and spacing out our meal. She could have put very little thought into it, but she didn't!
For the 3rd course, we had Clams Casino (which were steamed clams with bacon and butter) and Lobster and Scallop Newberg:
The Newberg looks kind of icky in the pic, but it was one of my fave!! Essentially, it's lobster and scallop in a thick white creamy sauce. It was kind of stew-like! I had a serious debate in my head about whether or not to dip our bread into the sauce, but then I thought about the calories and decided that it wasn't necessary! ;)
The Clams Casino was also really good! The hardest part about eating clams is to get it off the shell without killing the clam piece! But Tar Pit managed to pull it apart, slice it in half and present it beautifully! yummy!!
Of all the dishes, I liked the Newberg, Duck Sliders and Tuna Tartare the best. Russ liked the Tuna Tartare the best. =)

Kelley is The Bestest!!!
Since I was having lots of "OMG!!! AAAGGGHHHH!!!!" moments this week, I asked Kelley if she was free for a quick meeting! Of course, being the professional friend that she is, she said Yes! Before I knew it, we were going to have lunch during my lunch break and she would meet near me (even tho I offered to meet her somewhere convenient)! She's so great!!!
And then we just talked about EVERYTHING!!!! How she's doing (calm, cool, collected, and busy); how I'm doing (stressed); all these different ideas I had for the wedding and how to implement them! Before I knew it, my lists galore with my zillion questions dwindled to nothing! But I'm sure, Kelley's lists increased dramatically! haha.
At the end of the meeting, I even had HW assignments for us to work on! I love assignments! It makes me feel like I'm doing my part (not to mention, it makes me feel like I'm psychologically in control of something). hahaha. My type-A personality was coming out probably!
And even with the HW assignments, I feel like a huge weight has lifted off my shoulders! But now I feel bad b/c I probably just transfered my stress to Kelley! :( I hope not! I hope I just needed to discuss everything and now that I have, I feel much more relaxed!
I honestly don't know how Kelley does it!!! She answered all my questions, managed to be in total control of everything w/ answers to all of my questions, calm me down, and make me feel like I can conquer the world! Kelley is the BESTEST!!!!

My Bridal Shower Invites
The other day, after having a near-breakdown at work, planning, and dealing w/ the zillions of details I keep thinking about, I came home to this beautiful envelope!!
I told Russ, "I think this is my bridal shower invite!" (esp since I recognized Anita's handwriting). ;) So, we opened it together! And this was what I found on the outside!
Super cute!!! =) And then when I took off the pretty ribbon, this was the inside:
So...pretty! Can't wait!!
It's funny b/c I hear random details from everyone about the shower...like, "is it OK if we have it here?" "Is it OK if it's like this?" And it makes me more and more curious! =) But I'm exercising my patience and haven't forced anyone to tell me what's in store for me! ;) Russ finds this rather curious b/c usu when he has a surprise for me, it's a surprise for about 10 seconds after he says, "I have a surprise for you." If it's a surprise, then don't tell me about it! Just surprise me! ;)
Anyway, my patience has been working well. I must be maturing! ;) hahaha. Yeah right.

Haeli & Malcolm's Awesome Wedding
On a rainy So. Cal. weekend, Haeli & Malcolm tied the knot! Actually, it rained and poured all day Saturday and everyone fretted over the semi-outdoor wedding on Sunday. But when Sunday rolled around, it was gorgeous, beautiful and just perfect!! We could not have asked for anything more perfect than Sunday!!! But let's start at the beginning....
On Friday evening, Russ and I raced out of work and raced down to SD. We wanted to make sure we were there to help with anything Haeli & Malcolm might need. Instead, we made it just in time for dinner! Turns out Anita, Audrey & Jason were there with their helping hands! =) After dinner, we hung out at the groom's house. What is a groom's house...well, Haeli & Malcolm were geniuses and rented a house for the groom, groomsmen and their significant others for the weekend! They rented another house for the bride, BMs and their significant others for the weekend! Super smart! Anyway, we went there to hang out and watch the boys play some games!
On Saturday, Anita, Jason, Audrey, Russ and I went to grab some much needed coffee and breakfast and headed back over to the groom's house for some pizza and more hanging out. Good idea too b/c it was pouring cats and dogs! The highlight of the afternoon was when the groomsmen were trying to throw Malcolm into the pool, but he threw Eric (co-best man) into the pool instead! No pics of that tho. :(
Following the rehearsal, we had to a Chinese food rehearsal dinner, followed by some last single-person clubbing in downtown SD! Malcolm rode the bull there. Haeli smartly opted to remain safe and away from the bull. We had drinks and I helped nurse an underage cousin back to health! Jason helped to corrupt the other underage cousin! As Audrey can attest to, I was the instigator this weekend! ;)
After having some late-night popcorn snacks, we all finally made it to bed, only to wake up 6 hours later to get ready for Haeli & Malcolm's BIG DAY!!! =) We went straight to Peet's Coffee to load up on the caffeine and then got ready!

We're Getting Married in Less Than 3 Months!!!
Back in December, Haeli said to me, "OMG! I just realized that I'm getting married in 2 months! AGH!! There's still so much I have to do!!!" My response was, "OMG! You're right! You are getting married in 2 months! Wow!!!"
I did some math in my head and then I said, "I still have 5 months! I don't need to worry." ;) Little did I know...time has totally flown by and now we're getting married in less than 3 months!!!!
Now, I'm starting to have the same "OMG! AGGHHHH!!!" moments that Haeli had! Except, I'm not quite sure why I'm stressed out! haha. I mean, we have the best wedding team ever and they're keeping me 100% sane!! But for some stupid reason, I feel the stress, I can’t sleep at night, and I’ve got lists galore!
Maybe it's b/c I'm trying to meet my hours at work; trying to respond to all the relatives' questions about the wedding weekend and helping them plan their stay in LA; trying to remember to talk to Russ about various details; trying to nicely tell ppl that we're not rich and we can't invite the whole world to the wedding; and just trying to juggle a bajillion things!
Or maybe it's b/c Malcolm & Haeli just got married this past weekend and that was the personal milestone that I was waiting for before I needed to crank up the intensity of our wedding planning! [BTW - Their wedding was beautiful and I’ll post about it as soon as I get my pics uploaded.]
