Lounge Furniture

One of our goals at the wedding was to get everyone to mix and mingle!  We didn't want everyone to be in their little cliques and not talk to anyone new!

To reach this goal, Kelley helped us design lounge furniture for ppl to chill, relax, people watch, and chat.  Check out how gorgeous it turned out:

This is the giant ottoman thing-y that was in the middle of the foyer.  It was a total hit!

Now here's a pic of the lounge furniture by the dance floor.  Kelley designed it so that we had the tufted high-back sofas w/ mirrored end tables.  You'll need to look beyond the main focus of the cakes and to the lounge furniture behind it.

Our Menus

Our Menus really turned out awesome.  Tianyi, as usual, gave us a few style ideas and we picked one.  It was always soo simple with her and Kelley!

Kelley, who probably is the mastermind behind everything, asked us to come up with unique titles that would really match our personalities.  So, we spent a lot of time thinking of interesting titles

You're probably wondering, "titles", what titles?  Well...instead of "appetizer" or "entree", we had to think of something else in its place!  It was a lot more difficult than you could possibly imagine!  Esp b/c Russ is supposed to be the creative one b/c he loves all the writing, while I'm just a Type A lawyer.  Turns out that I'm smarter than Russ at this stuff since I came up with almost all the titles!  heehee.

Here's what we came up with:

Appetizer = Tickle Your Buds
Salad = Bask in the Sun
Entree = Fill Your Tummy
Cake = Eat it too

I love how the purple napkins went perfectly w/ the menu, which went perfectly w/ our gray/silver tablecloths!  =)

San Diego Mini-Vacay

After the sunshine-y day at Sea World, we decided to take it easy and turn our Sea World trip into a mini-vacay in SD!  We used our Starwood points and stayed at the W for free.  heehee.

I asked around for some yummy restaurants and we ended up using the list provided by the W.  They instantly made reservations for us and before we knew it...we were having a nice relaxing Saturday evening meal at Cowboy Star Restaurant & Butcher Shop!!  =)


We waited for a bit at the Bar.  Russ got a "New Fashioned" while I got some drink that was delish, except I can't remember it's name.  :(

Everything was sooooo delish that when our entrees arrived, I completely forgot to take a picture of it and dived right into it!!!  ;)  OOOOPS!!!!

We were sooooo full that we didn't get any dessert!  Can you believe!?!??!!!

After dinner, we decided to walk back to try to work off our GIANT delicious dinner!  YUMMY!!!  We highly recommend it!  It was awesome!!

The next day, we drove to La Jolla to have walk around and have brunch/lunch at George's On The Cove.  We couldn't quite decide what/where to eat, and went to George's b/c we've gone there w/ our friends before!  yum.

And we got the Verbana Soup dessert.  It was quite an interesting dessert.  Russ LOVED it!

We took our time driving back and stopped by 85 degrees bakery in Irvine.  The line was GIANT!  We got some pastries and the iced salty coffee.  It was TO DIE FOR!!  We were so excited about it that we forgot to take a picture of it!  Oops, but here's the dessert case:

And then we headed home after a pit-stop at South Coast.  heehee.

 It was a nice mini-vacay to SD!  =)

Got the Wedding Dress Back!

heehee.  I got my dress back and it's quite pretty, in its box!  What should I do w/ it????

Sea World

For my firm's summer event, they decided on a Sea World expedition.  So, early on a Saturday morning, Russ and I trekked down to SD to join in the Sea World madness.

Oh how Sea World has changed in the past 16 years!!!  In fact, I don't even really remember what it was like 16 years ago!  I just remember Shamu, getting a Shamu stuffed animal, and a dolphin stuffed animal.  It's totally different now.  Russ was quite excited since he's never gone before.  =)

Traffic was a PAIN though!  It took us nearly 3 hrs to get there!  :(  we got there just in time for the picnic lunch, seeing Opie the Otter and then it was time for the shows!  =)  Check it out:

It was really easy to take pics of Shamu b/c he's dark and huge!  I could always tell when Shamu was about to jump or do something crazy....  In a bit, you'll understand why this key fact was quite important!  ;)

The Seal was hungry for food and kept barking at us to feed him!  ;)

The whales and dolphins were really fast in jumping out of the water!  It was really hard for me to see when they were about to jump.  And I sort of took a picture of the girl on top of the whale...but I accidentally cut off her head.  :(  oops!

Pete & Jess' Wedding - Part 2

On the BIG DAY, Russ joined Pete and his groomsmen for a man-brunch at the hotel buffet.  ;)

During that time, I read my book and wandered the streets of Richmond trying to find a liquor store. I had a feeling those boys would be all nervous while they were getting ready and I thought a little rum and coke might help alleviate those jitters.  ;)  Pete and Rob couldn't drink b/c they would turn red, but the other guys did!  =

At around 2:30 Pete and Jess had their "First Look" photos.  Of course, I didn't bring my stupid camera!  duh!  After we saw their first look, Russ and I headed back upstairs so that we could finish getting ready!

Since Russ was an usher, we got to the UBC Boathouse early and he started greeting ppl and directing them to the ceremony location.  I just hung out w/ family.  =)  Before we knew it, the ceremony was about to start:

It was a bit warm, which is probably why Rob was making a funny face.  ;)

 Rob was going to show us the rings earlier (at the First Look), but since we were on a pier, he didn't show us the rings for fear that they would drop through the planks!  ;)

 It was really beautiful to see the sunset in the background while everyone was giving their toasts.

And then Pete & Jess had a surprise for us!  They did a dance for us (from the Winter Olympics).  I don't really know what it was called:

 It was super cute and EVERYONE got into the dance!!  Afterwards, the party REALLY started and that's when all the drinking and dancing took place!  You can totally see the difference in Russ (from his usher duties to the end of the night)!  ;)  That's a sign of everyone having a GREAT TIME!!  =)
