On a beautiful, sunny, auspicious day in Vancouver, Russ' cousin, Pete, and Jessica got married! =) It was a gorgeous wedding and we had a ton of fun! Here's our weekend adventures in Vancouver!
We got to Vancouver late on Thurs evening and missed out on the rehearsal dinner and the post-rehearsal dinner fun! Dang it! We heard it was A LOT OF FUN!!!
On Friday, though, we woke up to the beautiful sunshine of Vancouver! The weather was expected to be in the 80s. It was such a drastic weather change from LA since LA was experiencing gloomy and cold weather!
To take advantage of the sun, Pete arranged for us out-of-towners to go to Kits Beach! After a SkyTrain ride to the Waterfront and a bus ride to Kits Beach, we were able to traipse through the hot scorching sand and find a spot for us all to lay out our clean WHITE hotel towels! Needless to say, our clean white hotel towels weren't white by the time we left. I read my book and laid out while Russ, Pete and some others went into the ocean. Russ said the water was chilly, but not nearly as chilly as the Turkish waters!
A bit later, Rob (Russ' other cousin and Pete's younger bro) called Pete to ask for directions to where we were hanging out on the beach. Pete, at Russ' coaxing and cajoling, said, "when you get off the bus, go right, and you'll see us by the logs." After they hung up, Pete and Russ just started laughing. Rob had no idea what he had in store for him w/ those directions! There were logs all over the beach!!
We all anxiously awaited Rob & Erin's arrival so that we could see Rob's reaction to Pete & Russ' directions. Once they got there, Rob called Pete and said, "I see how ridiculous your directions are now." hahaha. Everyone was sort of hoping Rob would use another word to describe the directions, but Rob was gracious w/ his words!
Anyway, here are the "triplicates" at the beach:
After the pic, I asked Rob how he got to be so giantly. He said he stole all the nutrients from Russ and Pete. Sounds like something Christina complains to me about! ;)
That night, Pete arranged for a bar night for all of his and Jessica's in-town and out-of-town buddies at the Irish Heather. That was THE PERFECT place for the boys! The bar's focus was primarily on whisk(e)y, scotch and beer. Everyone got to try all kinds of whisk(e)y and scotch. We ate a delicious meal and had fun just hanging out.
Here's some pics from my camera:
After Jess arrived, the party continued for a little bit longer before she had to leave, get to the hotel and catch some zzzzs before the big day! I was charge of Pete leaving the bar by midnight. hahaha. Russ thought I would be perfect for the job, but Pete was a natural negotiator. He tried to negotiate his way out of leaving at midnight. But I out-lawyered him and we left at midnight! =) Job accomplished!
Once we arrived at the hotel, we went to the convenience store to buy some water, 5-hour energy drinks, and dark chocolate M&Ms. Then we ran into Joey & JW who just received a makeover from Pete's Indiana buddies:
Russ says Pete was surrounded by some sexy ladies! ;) After a little more negotiating, we dropped Pete off in his room (we were just 2 doors down from him!), showered really quick and went back to hang out w/ him until he felt sleepy. Luckily, that took about 10 minutes and he was out! ;) *phew* I was getting tired from the beach, going out, and negotiating w/ him! ;)
Stay tuned for the BIG DAY post! =)
