Anyway, at around 6:15, when we thought we were "fashionably late," we walked into Roger & Lisa's wedding. We were one of the first persons there! Well, except for the bride and groom and the wedding party! Oh well.
Roger & Lisa's colors were gray/silver and yellow. Super pretty. The favors and escort cards were little gray/silver boxes stuffed with lemonheads! And their table numbers were NBA basketball players! Roger loves playing basketball! In fact, Roger and Russ play every Sunday together! They're part of that Sunday Ball League ("SBL")!
Anyway, since we're part of the SBL crowd and it's mainly all the guys who are friends, we were relegated to the back of the restaurant area. Probably a good idea since those guys can get pretty crazy!
Here's me and Russ before we started playing drinking games:
And then, it got crazy! First, the emcee girl had a limited vocabulary. She must have said "beautiful" like 200 times and "handsome" like 100 times. She was accidentally condescending to one of the BMs by calling the rest "beautiful," but not the other one! So, Kei came up with the fantastic idea of playing a drinking game...everytime she said "beautiful," we had to take a sip/shot of whatever we were drinking. If she said "handsome," it was 2 sips/shots!
Oh and there were 2 wedding crashers there! Andy and Ryan. haha. Ronson asked if it was OK first and then Andy and Ryan joined. Andy is a great instigator of drinking games and Kei has a great mind for coming up with games to keep everyone entertained! Here's Kei and Andy goofing around:
ummm...if you can't tell, they're holding the little gray/silver boxes to reflect something else...
Andi Terada had a table right behind the make-shift bar and she stole us some bottles of drinks everytime the GM / bartender wasn't looking! Andy devised a way to share in the alcohol. He made everyone drink some "tea!" haha.
That's Norm & Mary.
Here's Kei and Norm stirring up trouble:
This is the happy newlywed couple:
Since we sat with all the SBL peeps, they HAD to take an "old school" SBL pic. That's Russ, Tony, Norm, Roger, Kei and Keith Tam. Russ is holding up our table number of Chriss Mullin - #17.
And here's Kei trying to bump and grind Stacy, or maybe it's the chair...not sure:
Needless to say, we all had a great time at Roger and Lisa's wedding! It's funny to be with such a rowdy group of ppl! I felt right at home, laughing my head off, listening to them comment on the emcee's limited vocab, and just having a great time! It was fun to have a chance to un-wind and not think about work at all.
